Immerse yourself in this mini retreat while earning CEUs, where we will practice self-care tools to reduce stress and build resiliency while connecting deeply with ourselves and a supportive community. Reconnect with your inner calm and begin to rediscover a sense of wellbeing and connection through meditation, mindful yoga, and expressive writing.
Learning Objectives

Describe the science of mind body medicine including the stress response and the relaxation response

Explore meditation, mindful yoga, and breath practices for reducing stress and anxiety, how to safely apply them into therapy and self-care, and prevent burnout.

Use an expressive writing practice that can enhance the immune system, lower stress and anxiety, and support mindful communication in clinical practice.

APA: 3 CE Credits : The HeartWell Institute is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education credits for psychologists. HeartWell Institute maintains responsibility for this program and content.

NBCC ACEP: 3 credit hours: HeartWell Institute has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider ACEP No. 7058. Programs that do not qualify for CE credit are clearly identified. HeartWell Institute is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.

About the Instructor

Emily Marsick, PhD is a licensed mental health counselor in private practice specializing in stress reduction, resilience, and well-being using mind body and lifestyle approaches. She has extensive training in using meditation, mindfulness, yoga, expressive writing, and nutrition to improve mental health and is certified to lead the SMART (Stress Management and Resiliency Training) program from the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Mass General Hospital. Dr. Marsick received her bachelor’s from NYU; master’s from Harvard University; and CAGS (Counseling Psychology) and PhD (Expressive Therapies) from Lesley University where she was Adjunct Professor for over ten years.
